Welcome to Week Eight of The 40 Day Soul Fast!
Congratulations! You have made it to the final week of the Soul Fast!
As we mark the completion of our 40 Day Soul Fast, it is appropriate that we
seal all that God has revealed and renewed within us with praise and
celebration!
This is "Easter Week"--also known as "Bright Week" in the
Catholic and Orthodox Church. The first day of this week we celebrated the
power of God to make all things new as we commemorated the resurrection of our
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
That resurrection life is now alive in every believer: God "took our
sin-dead lives and made us alive in Christ" (Ephesians 2:1 msg). Paul
wrote, "It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me"
(Galatians 2:20 nlt).
It is time to remember who you are in Christ.
Reboot and reconnect with God's original intent for your life--you are an heir
of the King of kings, set apart and set free from the slavery of sin and the
bondage of death.
Today also marks the end of the Jewish Passover--described as "a time of
cleansing the home and soul of leaven." Passover is also a time of
remembrance--a time to recall being set free from slavery by the power of God
and from death by the blood of the lamb.
Only the blood of the Lamb--the blood of Jesus--has the power to cleanse and
restore peace to your soul; a resurrection power we are reminded works in each
of us every time we partake of the Lord's Supper "in remembrance of
Him."
Simply put: "Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The
old life is gone; a new life has begun" (2 Corinthians 5:17 nlt).
Now that's something to celebrate!
Learn more by downloading the full lesson here. I pray it will be a
blessing and empower you to embrace a new and authentically powerful life in
Christ.
Romans 6:4 nlt; 7:6 NLT: Just as Christ was raised from
the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new
lives--now that we're no longer shackled to that domineering mate of
sin...we're free to live a new life in the freedom of God!
2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT: Now we look inside, and what we
see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new.
The old life is gone; a new life burgeons! God put the world square with
himself through the Messiah, giving the world a fresh start.
